A The Broadway Collection recebe nove prêmios no Tony Awards 2016
Os shows que fazem parte da The Broadway Collection receberam 43 indicações e noves prêmios no 70º Tony Awards que aconteceu na noite de ontem, 12 de Junho de 2016, no Beacon Theater em Nova York. A premiação foi conduzida por James Corden, apresentador do programa Late Late Night Show.
O show Hamilton foi o grande vencedor da noite, com 16 indicações e 11 prêmios. Além de Hamilton, as outras produções mais premiadas foram Humans e The Color Purple (ambos da The Broadway Collection).

The Color Purple ganhou como "Melhor Revival" e "Melhor Atriz" em um musical para Cynthia Erivo. Humans levou quatro prêmios: "Melhor Peça", "Melhor Cenário", "Melhor Atriz Coadjuvante" e Melhor Ator Coadjuvante" em uma peça.
Destaque também para Jessica Lange, premiada como "Melhor Atriz em uma Peça" por Long Day's Journey Into Night (peça que recebeu o prêmio de "Melhor Iluminação e um Peça").
